So how many grown ups does it take to pull a tooth? Well I was beginning to think that it would either take a whole army or that he would graduate high school with the tooth (his favorite tooth by the way) dangling in his mouth. But after six weeks it was finally taken, by force.
Anyone walking by the house, especially in the last 4 days, must have thought we were surely killing him. I even got gum all over my couch that he would not relinquish because he did not want to open his mouth and give us a chance at getting the tooth. He also admitted through all this that he no longer loved us and that we were making him miserable because we just could not understand that this was his favorite tooth in his whole mouth.
But tonight, in mid-scream, I was able to grab a hold of it and ever so gently pull it out. It was hanging by a thread and he didn't even know it was out until I showed it to him. Which of course, as is the case with this drama king, heightened the hysteria. It was actually quite comical. He screamed and cried about it hurting more than anything in his whole life and I thought for sure he was going to faint when he realized there was a tiny bit of blood in his mouth. Then wii came to the rescue. We gave him a new wii sports game and as suddenly as it started it ended.
Once the hysterics had subsided he even admitted that it didn't hurt a bit lol. So I asked him if that meant that he would let me pull the tooth easier the next time, since now he knows it really doesn't hurt. No, he said said he'd probably scream and cry the same way he did with this one.
And that is why men do not bear children.
